- I'm a novelist, memoir-writer and poet. My father's parents immigrated to the US in 1920 from Castellaneta, Puglia. My mother's parents immigrated to the US in 1913 from Castlenouva di Garfagna, Tuscany (near Lucca). I'm a native of Seneca Falls, NY and currently live in Denver, CO with my life partner, Jane. I'm the author of three novels and one memoir. My shorter works (memoir, fiction, poetry) have been published in a variety of literary and cultural journals, both online and in-print.

As an Italian/American writer you must have an opinion on the teaching of the Italian language in the United States...

Thank you so much for the comment, I was over looking at the post you made "Non Parlo Italiano".. It saddened me, I relate so much. I read a article the other day how we today do not learn our families language from standing around the kitchen anymore, but now we all if lucky enough enroll in college.
