Hi, I didn't notice your comment from October until just now. Auguri. I personally have been to Newton, Massachusetts. I have slept over there while visiting the Boston area. My maternal grandmother was born in San Donato Val di Comino. I personally visited that town in 2005.
There are colonies of Settefratesi in Stamford, Connecticut and New Canaan, Connecticut. I am highly familiar with those 2 New England towns. The religious feast of Settefrati is Our Lady of Canneto (August 22). They used to have a celebration of that feast at the Marian Shrine at West Haverstraw, New York in the 1970's. I wish you a happy Thanksgiving.

Hi - I wasn't sure anyone noticed this page. Glad to see you here.

I've been to San Donato Val di Comino - I have an uncle from that town. The area outside of Boston - Newton, Cambridge - is full of people from San Donato.

I have heard of Settefrati - but I've never been there. Is there an area of the US where people of Settefrati emigrated to? I find it interesting how clusters of various emigrees appear in certain towns - like the San Donatese in Newton.

My father was born in Settefrati. My mother is also from la Ciociaria. I have visited la Valle di Comino several times. In other words I am from the area north of Cassino and Atina. The same are is southeast of Sora. Ciao a tutti!

My roots lie both in San Giorgio a Liri and Sant'Apollinare. Though I've visited the area several times - I'm always interested in learning more. I'm particularly interested in the war time years.

In future posts I will share websites and information that I've collected which I hope you will find of interest. Please share some of yours too!
